The purpose of this course is to help students improve their ability to make ethical decisions in business by providing them with a framework that they can use to identify, analyse, and resolve ethical issues in business decision making. Individual values and ethics are important in this process.
By studying business ethics, students begin to understand how to cope with conflicts between their personal values and those of the organization. An organization’s reward system can reinforce appropriate behaviour and help shape attitudes and beliefs about critical issues. For example, the success of some campaigns to end racial or gender discrimination in the workplace provides evidence that attitudes and behaviour can be changed with new information, awareness, and shared values.
This course would be useful to anyone who is willing to acquire basic insights into the domain of business ethics. Also, the connection between ethics and social responsibility is also explained during the course.
